Introduction to Keemag Ltd.

Keemag Limited is a SME (small to medium enterprise) company registered in England which is part of the United Kingdom, which is at the present time, part of the European Union.

This website has been developed to provide an insight into the electrical engineering aspect of new projects, the design and maintenance of electrical systems and of electrical engineering in general in England and the reasons for its demise.

The size of the subject is such that it has to be broken down into sections. Those sections are described in brief below.

Project electrical design – taking a client’s brief and developing it to an outline design and the preparation of the project planning charts and financial spreadsheets.

Electrical system design – from the outline design develop the detailed working drawings and specifications.

Electrical project management – managing the project from the client’s brief to the handing over at the completion of the project. Including the oversight of the project electrical design and the electrical system design, together with the updating of the project planning charts and the financial spreadsheets. The preparation of the invitations to tender for the various works, the letting of contracts and the management of those contracts.

Electrical installation – installation techniques as practiced by electricians

Electrical systems maintenance – planned maintenance and breakdowns

Electrical personnel - To understand the structure of the industry the personnel that inhabit the industry are described, if you are thinking of joining read it. In England any customer will appreciate quality work except when you are a hidden trade, which an electrician is. Fine furniture or other carpentry can readily be appreciated, with electrical installations as long as there is power at a socket or the light switches on, no-one cares how much work has gone into getting power to that socket or that light to switch on. The electrician is always considered to be overpaid for the work that can be seen because so much is unseen. Your efforts will never be appreciated, so if you like to be praised for your work you should train to become a joiner/carpenter or if you like the outdoors a bricklayer or gardener. Alternatively if you want to have a job in the electrical industry that does not involve much effort become a sales representative where advancement up the management ladder (the very greasy pole) is easier and the knowledge requirements are much less. It just so happens that is the route into the industry that most graduates take, they can always spot the easy life! It should be noted that an electrician rarely becomes a director of a company but every company has a sales director who invariably started life as a sales representative, which is the graduates route to the top at the expense of those that can do the job.

Commentary – thoughts and comments; and not only on the electrical industry.

Just a note about the European Union.
If you ever want to understand the disdain of the English to the European Union watch a session of the European Parliament. Members of the European Parliament (MEPs commonly known as ETs – EuroTossers) are the most insignificant bunch of imbecilic morons ever to blight the lives of the citizens of Europe, the quicker we leave the quicker the whole European experiment will collapse and free the citizens from the yoke of those overpaid jobsworths. Their so called debates are not the discussion of a subject but multiple speeches which are only related by the title of the so called debate where the ETs (MEPs) postulate their personal agendas.

In the European Union free speech is not permitted in its Parliament. On February 24th 2010 Nigel Farage, an English member of the European Parliament, made the following comments regarding Herman Van Rompuy in a speech to the parliament “We were told that when we had a president, we'd see a giant global political figure, a man who would be the political leader for 500 million people, the man that would represent all of us on the world stage, the man whose job was so important that of course you're paid more than President [Barack] Obama. Well, I'm afraid what we got was you ..... I don't want to be rude but, really, you have the charisma of a damp rag and the appearance of a low-grade bank clerk and the question I want to ask is: Who are you? I'd never heard of you. Nobody in Europe had ever heard of you. I can speak on behalf of the majority of British people in saying that we don't know you, we don't want you, and the sooner you are put out to grass, the better. I have no doubt that your intention is to be the quiet assassin of European democracy and of the European nation state and that was probably because you come from ‘pretty much a non-country’ so have no interest in the nation state.”
Herman Van Rompuy president elect of the European Union who was in the Parliament listening to the speech did not respond, however Nigel Farage was fined €2980 plus costs by Jerzy Buzek who was the Polish president of the European Parliament. The costs were imposed by the European Court of Justice, the joke is in the name!!!
So much for championing free speech, Herman Van Rompuy in his inaugural address to the parliament he stated that human rights are a key priority, obviously he does not consider free speech to be a human right.
